Our Story
Clama Retreats was born from the shared passion of João Carlos and Catarina Gomes Carlos for the world of luxury hospitality, and from a clear desire to elevate the short-term rental experience in the Cascais and Lisbon regions.
João brings over a decade of experience in Short-Term Rentals and Revenue Management, having led teams, operations, and growth initiatives at well-established companies such as CadenzaLux and Lisbonne Collection. Throughout his career, he has developed a sharp eye for profitability, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Catarina, in turn, built a solid career in luxury event planning and coordination, having worked with prestigious brands such as the Hotel Fortaleza do Guincho – Relais & Châteaux, Hotel Cascais Miragem, Very Cool – Comunicação e Eventos, and Unique Weddings in Portugal. Her attention to detail, commitment to service, and organisational talent are now essential pillars of Clama Retreats.
More than just a brand, Clama Retreats is a reflection of what matters most to them as a family. The name is inspired by the names of their daughters, Clara and Madalena, and symbolises the authenticity, care and personal approach they bring to everything they do.
